It’s always a pleasure collaborating and forming partnerships with insightful and caring human beings to create positive community impact
It’s been beyond a joy to be back at the King’s Gallery for another six-week ‘Arts 4 Dementia’ programme with the incredible historian, Catherine. It’s been a dream to collaborate with Catherine, creating creative workshops that seamlessly blend with her storytelling to bring the King’s Gallery’s latest exhibition, ‘Edwardian Elegance’, to life. This allowed participants to engage with time, craft, and historical contexts, creating tokens of crafted history in the form of oriental fans, textile badges, flower-pressed ceramic decorations, postcards and decoupage picture frames inspired by the exhibition’s fabulous Fabergé frames.

One of the many beauties of being a freelancer is the opportunity to bond with people from different walks of life who share the same passion for creating inclusive, accessible, and empowering spaces, taking one step at a time to build a better world.

"I’ve worked with Alice twice, both times on six-week Arts for Dementia projects at The King’s Gallery in London. She is an absolute joy to work with. Alice brings lots of ideas and, essentially, she is able to communicate them to others clearly so that she can draw out other people’s creativity. She gives people a springboard for expressing themselves so that people who take part in her sessions are guided by her in such a lovely gentle way that encourages them to find their own expression and not merely follow a template. Alice also has plenty of energy and empathy that is so vital to working with people living with dementia. This makes her an outstanding workshop leader. I would work with Alice again any time!"
Big thank you to the beautiful participants, volunteers and staff at Arts4dementia for making this another special programme.
