Artist Residency for 'When Waste Meets Design' Exhibition at ArtHouse Jersey

Over the week's residency, Alice conducted over 15 hours of workshops with Jersey's local community to create a socially-engaged community quilt made entirely out of waste materials. The quilt was handmade by over 30 individuals who contributed their motifs to the quilt, illustrating their thoughts and aspirations for the future of waste.

Alice shared her skill set of natural dyeing and traditional embroidery techniques. Where she taught two dye bath techniques using food waste to dye discarded fabrics. This was later integrated into her quilting project and embroidered by participants to create the wearable waste quilt.
