Artist Residency for 'When Waste Meets Design' Exhibition at ArtHouse Jersey

Over the week's residency, I conducted over 15 hours of workshops with Jersey's local community to create a socially-engaged community quilt made entirely out of waste materials. The quilt was handmade by over 30 individuals who contributed their motifs to the quilt, illustrating their thoughts and aspirations for the future of waste.

I shared my skills in natural dyeing and traditional embroidery techniques. I taught two dye bath techniques using food waste to dye discarded fabrics, which were later integrated into the quilting project and embroidered by participants to create the wearable waste quilt.
