Activating the Work

In the previous post, I shared the Synaptic Forest workshop. This idea of connection carried through into the installation.

From workshop to installation

This idea of connection carried through into the final installation. We became particularly interested in the idea of “dangling neurons” forms that exist in a state of potential, waiting for connection.

This led to the development of a synaptic tunnel within the installation: a space filled with suspended textile threads that only become activated through interaction. Where the visitor becomes the instigator of the synapse, as they move through the space, their bodies brush against these forms. They connect them. They set them in motion. At this moment, the work is no longer something to be observed. It is something to be completed through presence. The audience becomes part of the network, mirroring the very processes we had been exploring throughout the workshops.

In the final post, I’ll reflect on the impact of the project and what comes next.
